Ekaterini Dimakis
Ambassador Dimakis has a degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and a degree in Political Science from the Faculty of Political Science of the same University.
Prior to her Canadian assignment, Ambassador Dimakis was Director of the Department of Environment, Climate Change and Global Policies, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens since 2021. Ambassador Dimakis has also served as Director of the Department of International Economic & Financial Organizations in Athens, as Deputy Director of the Middle East and Arab Countries Department, as Consul General of Greece in Chicago, USA, and as Consul General of Greece in Hamburg, Germany. Other previous foreign assignments include the Embassy of Greece in Vienna, Austria, the Consulate General of Greece in Adelaide, Australia, and the Embassy of Greece in Oslo, Norway.
Earlier in her career, Ambassador Dimakis served in various positions at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens. Among them was the Department of Asia & Oceania, where she was Head of ASEAN-ASEM Section, as well as Head of India, Pakistan and Afghanistan Section. Furthermore, she served at the Department of South East Europe as Head of Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina Section, and Head of SEECP-RCC Section. She also served as Deputy Head of the Department of Bilateral Economic Cooperation. Ambassador Dimakis started her diplomatic career at the Cabinet of the Secretary General of the Foreign Ministry in Athens.
