Biography

Olympia Anastasopoulou graduated with High Honors from Athens College and obtained a Law Degree from Athens University. 

She holds a Master of Laws (LLM) in International and European Studies with a thesis on Protected Designations of Origin (P.D.O.) and Geographical Indications (G.I.) and a Master in Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a major in finance and statistics.

As an attorney-at-law at the Supreme Court, with more than twenty years of experience, and Accredited Mediator with the Ministry of Justice, she has worked with major law firms and companies/organizations in Greece and abroad, especially in the commercial, insurance and financial sector. She has also served as a legal counselor in the National Theater of Greece and since 2010 serves as Legal Counselor in E-EFKA. 

In 2010 she was elected municipal counselor in Palaio Faliro and was appointed member at the Committee for the Quality of Life and Chairwoman at the Committee for Gender Equality.

In 2014 she joined the newly founded political party Potami, where she was elected Member of the Political Council and appointed Head of the Local Governments and Municipalities Sector, with considerable participation in the formulation of views and strategy in the progressive and liberal reform area with public interventions in the media as a working woman, mother and active citizen. 

In July 2019 national elections she responded to the calling of Kyriakos Mitsotakis and devoted her powers to the service of New Democracy as a parliamentary candidate in the demanding Southern Sector of Athens, when approximately 6,500 progressive citizens honored her with their vote, following a two-week election campaign. 

In January 2022 she was appointed Secretary General for Tourism Policy and Development.

She is fluent in English, French and German.

She is married to marine engineer Stefanos Adamopoulos and has two sons, twenty and seventeen years old.
